Just A Thought...
...has it occurred to anyone but me that there might be something MORE TO IT than shameless huckstering that caused som ad copywriter to bill Primeval as a serial-killer story? A lot of landscum left the theater feeling mighty ripped off that the "world's most prolific killer," who's taken out over 300 people, is actually a Crocodile. I, personally, have no problem with this.
It seems like a long shot to me, but possibly -- just possibly -- there is a little more respect out there lately for Crocodiles. You certainly don't see many Shark movies these days that are even taking the subject seriously. But there's been a whole string of croc films lately, admittedly of varying quality, but each of them treating the humans like idiots and thr Crocs as awesome forces of nature beyond anyone's control. You HAVE to like that.
Ehh, I'm probably asking too much. Humans are in no immediate danger of giving that kind of respect to a 'dumb animal.' The day that happens...will probably be the day Steve Irwin is recruited by the Piscatorial Collective, a Stingray perhaps, and starts agitating from behind the scenes for Croc Rights. That would never happen, would it?
